About TOCH Uganda

TOCH started its presence in Uganda to support the refugees from South Sudan and it has been fully registered as a child refugee non-governmental organization with the government of Uganda through NGOs Board.

To empower and protect children for a just society through developmental initiatives, prevention and response to sexual and gender-based violence and advocacy.

What We Do?

Child Protection & GBV Programs

TOCH intervention in child protection in emergency since 2008 in South Sudan and has expertise in the followings:

  • Establishment of Child friendly spaces,
  • Family Tracing and reunification
  • Capacity building of foster care families/givers and
  • Strengthening interim care for unaccompanied and separated children [UASC]
  • Psychosocial support

Peace Building

TOCH has been implementing activities in the areas of:

  • Establishment of Early Warning and early response systems
  • Community dialogues and reconciliations initiatives with conflicting communities
  • Peace building and conflict assessment
  • Conflict resolution and mitigation trainings
  • Capacity development for peace committees, Community Action Groups(CAGs) women peace networks and youth networks on conflict resolutions and management
  • Water points for peace connecting communities in need
  • In structure development for peace such as market stalls, police post for security, youth and women centre among others.
