A South Sudanese child rights activist has expressed worry about the little resources allotted to address crucial issues impacting the country’s youngest and most vulnerable inhabitants.
South Sudan is mired in a cycle of conflict and food insecurity, with mounting humanitarian needs.
Marko Madut Garang, the Executive Director of The Organization of Children’s Harmony (TOCH), noted in the Global Humanitarian Assistance (GHA) Report, which was released on June 20, that donor partners no longer prioritize the needs of the population, with significant budget cuts in 2022.
The Global Humanitarian Assessment (GHA) report, which has been released yearly since 2010, offers an industry-leading and data-driven assessment of the global financing landscape for humanitarian response while in-depth highlighting key issues and emerging trends for those working to improve financing responses to crises, particularly food insecurity.
